Diese virtuelle Banknotensammlung widmet sich speziell den modernen Weltbanknoten [ab ca. 1961 bis heute]. Eine Ausnahme bilden die Banknoten Estlands, Deutschlands und Rumäniens, von denen auch ältere Exemplare bestaunt werden können.
Sofern Informationen zu den Motiven und den Personen auf den Banknoten verfügbar sind, finden Sie darüber eine kurze Zusammenfassung auf der jeweiligen Seite. Dort erhalten Sie auch Hinweise auf bestimmte Varianten, Details und Unterscheidungsmerkmale des betreffenden Scheines.		 This virtual paper money collection deals basically with modern banknotes issues starting from 1961 until today. Exceptions of this rule are Estonia, German and Romania, where you may enjoy pictures of former issues as well.
If information about motifs and people displayed on the bank notes is available you'll find a brief summary of them on the bottom of every single page. There you'll be informed as well about varieties, interesting details and distinctive features of the specific bank note.

Rechtliche Hinweise bezüglich der Reproduktion von Banknoten:

Die Abbildungen aller Banknoten dieser Seite wurden nach den Vorgaben der europäischen Zentralbank gestaltet und entsprechen damit auch den Vorgaben anderer führender Nationalbanken. Grundsätzlich haben alle Banknoten eine niedrige Auflösung (max 72 dpi) und sind mit einem schwarzen Aufdruck "SPECIMEN" versehen, der mindestens die Hälfte des Scheines überstreicht.
Ausnahmen gibt es hiervon nur für Banknoten die älter als 40 Jahre sind bzw. durch eine Währungsreform vor mindestens fünf Jahren ersetzt wurden. Bei diesen Noten ist davon auszugehen, dass sie sich nicht mehr im täglichen Gebrauch befinden.

Legal restrictions concerning the reproduction of banknotes:

The pictures of bank notes on this page are created according to the preconditions of the European Central Bank and thus comply with similar regulations from other leading National banks as well. Every note displayed here is scanned with a low resolution of max. 72 dpi and and wears the overprint "SPECIMEN" in black letters, covering a significant part (more than 50%) of the length and height of the bank note. This does not apply to bank notes issed more than 40 years ago are replaced by others during a monetary reform, which took place at least 5 years ago. These notes are assumed not to be in public use anymore.
