On 14. April 1990 the Banque Centrale d'Algèrie has changed its name to Banque d'Algèrie. The notes of the first series issued under the new name are all dated 1992-05-21.

 

 

The following notes are like the previous one, but have enhanced security features (e.g. holographic stripes on their front sides).

 

 

In 2005 Algeria has issued a 1.000-Dinar bank note to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Arab League.

 

 

On 28th April 2011 the Bank of Algeria has introduced its first 2.000-Dinar bank note.

 

 

On 3rd February 2019 the Bank of Algeria has introduced new 500-dinar and 1.000-dinar bank notes. Notes of the previous series will be withdrawn.

 

 

On 4th July 2020 the Bank of Algeria has introduced a commemorative 2.000-dinar bank note commemorating the 58th anniversary of independence from France.

 

 

On 2nd November 2022 the Bank of Algeria has introduced a commemorative 2.000-dinar bank note commemorating the 31st ordinary session of the council of the League of Arab states held in Algiers.
